The American egret has a fifty-five inch wingspan, and standing over 4 feet in height

 it is one of the largest of the wading birds found in the Florida Everglades.

they stand motionless in the shallow water using a foot foraging method to rake and probe the bottom

attracting fish that are quickly snapped up with their quick bill reflex in a matter of milliseconds.
