flamingo

I think this is one one of my best shots ever.  It has sold well as a card.

The Flamingo is rare in the US.  It found in the wild only in the far south of Florida.

The shots here were taken in parks and zoos in Mexico and Florida.

I took over 100 shots to capture this one.

The Flamingo gets its distinct color from the food it eats, like shrimp.

They wave their beaks back and forth in the shallows scooping up food.

This is my most commented on shot.

When people see it at the shows we do,

they always remark on what a unique perspective I captured.

The juvenile takes about 3 years to go pink.
